Your spotlight on what's happening in the Swedish enterprise AI landscape.
Week 23-24 — Summary
Release date: 11th of June 2026
This week's edition opens with a landmark infrastructure investment: Google has broken ground on Sweden's first hyperscaler data center in Horndal, Dalarna. The facility will support Google's core services and Google Cloud, create around 100 permanent jobs, and comes with a SEK 54M local fund for sustainability and skills. For Swedish enterprises on Google Cloud, the implications around latency and data residency are immediate.
On the policy front, the Swedish government has adopted its first-ever cloud policy for public administration. Covering agencies, municipalities, and regions, the policy takes direct aim at vendor lock-in and puts data sovereignty on the agenda as a formal requirement, not just a procurement preference. PTS has been tasked with supporting implementation.
The economics of AI are shifting fast. Microsoft switched GitHub Copilot to consumption-based pricing on June 1, and for many users credits ran out within hours. It's part of a broader repricing across the industry. Uber burned its entire annual AI budget in four months, and Walmart has started capping employee token usage. CFOs are pushing back, and the era of subsidised AI access is quietly closing.
Finally, Forrester's State of Agentic AI 2026 finds that 75% of enterprises are adopting agentic AI but very few have scaled beyond pilots. The main blockers are ROI uncertainty, governance gaps, and platform confusion. The report's advice is direct: get orchestration right before adding more agents, and treat every agent as a governed identity with accountability attached.
