Keynote abstract: Integrating AI into your team, product and project
Adam Leon Smith, CTO of Dragonfly, will talk about key AI industry trends and how to integrate AI technologies into technology project delivery.  AI isn't just for specialists anymore, and poses challenges throughout the project lifecycle in requirements management, risk management, testing and ongoing support.  Adam will explain the history, dive into the key novel issues, outline some of the solutions, and ensure everyone understands they have a part to play in the AI revolution.

Adam Leon Smith has two decades of experience in technology and has held senior roles at Barclays and Deutsche Bank delivering large complex transformation projects. He is now CTO of Dragonfly, an international consultancy focused on software testing and quality assurance, with a particular focus on AI.  Adam is the current chair of the British Computer Society’s Special Interest Group in Software Testing and he is also an ISO/IEC convenor and editor, and is involved in the development of numerous international standards relating to AI and quality.  He is a member of the European Commission’s AI Alliance, and the IEEE’s group developing international standards on technology ethics.

Abstract 2: Extending robotic process automation by machine learning – functional testing of AI-RPA by Juhani Teeriniemi, Knowit Solutions Oy

Robotic process automation (RPA) is quickly transforming into AI-based hyperautomation: everything that can be automated, will be automated. In order to diminish risks, this automation must have strong people-centric emphasis, giving the end-user a transparent way to interact with the AI system. Furthermore, inclusion of AI brings some new twist to traditional software testing activities.

This presentation describes aspects of functional testing of software robots that utilize machine learning. Same principles are applicable to testing of AI applications in general.

The case study considers a software robot developed by Knowit Oy for Finanssivalvonta (Financial Supervisory Authority of Finland).

There is an all too often overlooked part of every process and piece of business wisdom - the people who make things happen (employees) and people who are impacted by those processes (customers and markets). Real understanding of shared perception, ideas and feelings around processes, issues and marketing are still mostly elusive, and have a tremendous impact on how successful any transformation or process is.

We are solving this issue by collecting information on what people thing in the form of freely worded text - survey answers, slack/teams messages, customer extranet discussions, interview transcripts, even social media - and then using an NLP algorithm to crystallise what is being said, why, and how the various topics link with one another. Further, we teach an algorithm to connect open text feedback to various numeric measurements around company culture, brand identity and customer loyalty. This way, we can turn real human understanding into scalable, measurable and directly actionable management insight.
